Our client is a well-established law firm seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join their Medical Malpractice practice. Â
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$22/hr – $28/hr Depending on Experience Â
Position Overview:
The Legal Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys within the Medical Malpractice department. This position is ideal for someone with strong legal experience who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple matters and deadlines. Â
Responsibilities of the Legal Assistant:
- Provide day-to-day administrative and legal support to Attorneys.
- Prepare, format, proofread, and organize legal documents and correspondence.
- Manage case files, calendars, deadlines, and attorney schedules.
- Assist with case preparation, discovery, filings, and document organization.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties as needed.
- Assist with additional projects and administrative tasks within the department.
Required Experience/Skills for the Legal Assistant:
- Prior legal assistant or legal administrative experience is required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal software.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Legal Assistant:
- Personal Injury experience is strongly preferred.
- Medical Malpractice experience is a plus.
- Experience with litigation support, discovery, and court filings is preferred.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Additional education or legal training is preferred.
