Our client is an established biopharmaceutical organization focused on developing and commercializing therapies within the central nervous system and neurology space. The organization is expanding their Medical Affairs team, and they are seeking an experienced MSL – Epilepsy to support scientific engagement with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders throughout the Northeast. This MSL – Epilepsy opportunity offers the chance to join a growing Medical Affairs organization and make a meaningful impact within the epilepsy community.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$180k – $225k Annually, Depending on experience
Position Overview:
The MSL – Epilepsy will serve as a field-based scientific resource responsible for building and maintaining relationships with epileptologists, neurologists, healthcare professionals, and other key stakeholders. This MSL – Epilepsy position is ideal for a Medical Affairs professional with previous MSL experience and a strong understanding of epilepsy, CNS, or neurology. Candidates with prior clinical, academic, or research experience in epilepsy combined with industry experience may also be considered.
Responsibilities of the MSL – Epilepsy:
- Develop and maintain relationships with epileptologists, neurologists, key opinion leaders, and healthcare professionals throughout the Northeast territory.
- Serve as a scientific and medical resource to external healthcare stakeholders.
- Communicate clinical and scientific information related to epilepsy and the broader neurology therapeutic area.
- Identify and engage appropriate KOLs while supporting ongoing scientific exchange.
- Partner cross-functionally with Medical Affairs and other internal stakeholders.
- Maintain knowledge of the epilepsy treatment landscape, emerging clinical data, and relevant scientific developments.
- Independently manage territory planning, KOL engagement, and field-based activities.
- Represent the organization as an MSL – Epilepsy during scientific discussions, medical meetings, and healthcare professional engagements.
Required Experience/Skills for the MSL – Epilepsy:
- 2+ years of Medical Science Liaison or comparable pharmaceutical or biotechnology Medical Affairs experience.
- Experience within neurology, CNS, epilepsy, or a closely related therapeutic area.
- Previous experience developing relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders.
- Strong scientific communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to independently manage a field-based territory and associated travel.
- Ability to communicate complex scientific and clinical information to a variety of healthcare audiences.
PreferredExperience/Skills for the MSL – Epilepsy
- Direct pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience supporting epilepsy.
- Approximately 4 – 5 years of MSL experience.
- Existing relationships with epileptologists, neurologists, or epilepsy-focused KOLs.
- Previous clinical, academic, or research experience involving epilepsy.
- Senior MSL candidates with strong epilepsy expertise are encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience working as an MSL – Epilepsy or in a closely aligned epilepsy-focused Medical Affairs position.
Education Requirements:
- PhD or PharmD is required.
