They are currently looking to add a Staff Accountant to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$28/hr – $32/hr
Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. This position will work closely with internal teams to maintain accurate financial records, support compliance with accounting standards, and ensure timely reporting in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions for accuracy.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, and potential issues.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and GAAP.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting and finance matters.
- Support additional accounting projects and responsibilities as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:
- 2 – 5 years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar.
- Month-end close experience.
- Audit support experience.
- Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas.
- Experience working in a multi-entity and/or fast-paced corporate environment.
- Familiarity with budgeting and financial analysis processes.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
