Client Overview:

Our client, a regional real estate company, is looking to add a Senior Property Accountant to their Accounting Department. Our client is well-established in the industry yet growing rapidly.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$80k – $85k

Position Overview:

The Senior Property Accountant will play a key role in managing the day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting for multiple entities. This position involves close collaboration with investment and operations teams to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and financial reporting. The role offers opportunities for professional growth and leadership within a dynamic and expanding retail company.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities of the Senior Property Accountant:

  • Work closely with the Finance and Operations teams daily to ensure the accuracy of accounting books.
  • Handle a portfolio of commercial properties.
  • Execute CAM reconciliations and CAM budgeting.
  • Monitor all accounts and analyze related performance to support decision-making.
  • Manage accounting processes and prepare and approve quarterly financial reports, compliance, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Research and propose accounting guidance to facilitate discussions and conclusions with team members.
  • Prepare analyses or responses to address requests from vendors, locations, and partners.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.

Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Property Accountant:

  • Minimum of 4 years of related property accounting experience.
  • CAM reconciliation and CAM budgeting experience.
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in financial analysis.
  • Solid planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Property Accountant:

  • Effective and self-motivated problem solver.
  • Positive attitude with a team-oriented mindset.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
