Our client is a global financial services organization with a technology-driven environment supporting real-time financial markets and trading operations. The Engineering team works on highly scalable, performance-sensitive applications and partners closely across architecture, QA, and other technology functions. They are currently looking to add a Senior C++ Engineer to their team. Â
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$136k – $175k + 15% Annual bonus Â
Position Overview:
The Senior C++ Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable software supporting fixed income trading systems. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on real-time and event-driven applications, with ownership of key features from technical design through delivery. The engineer will work closely with architects, principal engineers, QA, and other technology teams while contributing to technical and architectural decisions. Â
Responsibilities of the Senior C++ Engineer:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable C/C++ software solutions.
- Build and enhance technology supporting real-time trading applications.
- Own key features from technical design through implementation and delivery.
- Develop and support real-time and event-driven applications.
- Partner with Architects and Principal Engineers on technical and architectural decisions.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD processes.
- Troubleshoot technical, production, and performance issues.
- Partner with QA to ensure strong testing and software quality.
- Mentor and support Junior Engineers.
- Ensure solutions meet security, risk management, and regulatory standards.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior C++ Engineer:
- Strong professional experience with C/C++.
- Strong application development experience in Unix/Linux environments.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and/or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Solace, Google Protocol Buffers, or similar.
- Experience with real-time/event-driven processing, including messaging, signals, or database events.
- Strong understanding of software design principles and secure coding practices.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Experience working within Agile Development teams.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Must be able to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.
- Must be local to the NYC area or able to commute to the NYC office, as no relocation assistance is available.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior C++ Engineer:
- Experience with financial markets, trading systems, or capital markets technology.
- Experience with low-latency and performance-sensitive systems.
- Microservices and/or serverless architecture.
- AWS or other cloud platform experience.
- Docker/containerization.
- CI/CD pipelines and Git.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience is required.
