They are currently looking to add a Manufacturing Operations Manager to their team. Â
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$160k – $190k plus a potential annual bonus of up to 10%. Â
Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Operations Manager will lead manufacturing and shipping operations within a fast-paced production environment. This individual will drive operational excellence through lean manufacturing practices, continuous improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and employee development programs. This role offers significant visibility and career advancement potential for an ambitious leader interested in future executive-level growth opportunities. Â
Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Operations Manager:
- Lead daily manufacturing and shipping operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.
- Manage operational performance and profitability across assigned product lines.
- Monitor key performance indicators including throughput, labor efficiency, quality, schedule adherence, and on-time delivery.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to improve operational performance and support strategic goals.
- Ensure production schedules align with demand requirements and delivery commitments.
- Develop and manage operational budgets.
- Partner with Finance to improve manufacturing cost performance and production variances.
- Drive initiatives to reduce work-in-process inventory and improve material flow.
- Maintain manufacturing standards within ERP systems.
- Identify and execute cost reduction and productivity improvement opportunities.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives.
- Lead process improvement and automation projects.
- Support digital transformation and implementation of new manufacturing technologies.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Materials, Engineering, and Sales teams to ensure business objectives are met.
- Support new product introduction activities and production readiness.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve customer satisfaction and operational performance.
- Lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
- Drive workforce planning, performance management, succession planning, and employee development efforts.
- Promote accountability, engagement, and operational excellence throughout the organization.
- Build a flexible, cross-trained workforce capable of meeting changing business demands.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems and industry standards.
- Maintain adherence to all safety policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support audit activities, certifications, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
Required Experience/Skills for the Manufacturing Operations Manager:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, production planning, inventory management, shop floor control, and ERP systems.
- Demonstrated success leading Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience managing budgets, manufacturing costs, labor efficiency, and operational KPIs.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong execution skills with a bias toward action and results.
- Ability to adapt within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- U.S. work authorization is required.
- Must be eligible to comply with applicable U.S. export control regulations.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Manufacturing Operations Manager:
- Experience within electronics, electrical equipment, aerospace, defense, automotive, appliance, consumer electronics, or other highly engineered manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of manufacturing accounting and financial performance metrics.
- Knowledge of ISO, AS9100, or similar quality management systems.
- Lean Six Sigma certification.
- Experience leading automation, Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Technical degree or engineering background preferred.
- Demonstrated ambition for career advancement and increased organizational responsibility.
- Experience managing teams of 50+ employees in a manufacturing operation.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
