Client Overview:

A national food producer specializing in cakes and baked goods is expanding across South Florida, with this location based in Miami. The company partners with specialty markets, butcher shops, cafés, and other local retailers to provide high-quality, from-scratch baked goods. They are seeking a Production Manager.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$65k – $68k

Position Overview:

We are looking for our first key production hire, someone who can grow with the company. The ideal candidate would eventually take ownership of the majority of our production operations in Miami.

Responsibilities of the Production Manager:

• Prepare cakes, fillings, brownies, and other bakery products.
• Follow recipes and fermentation schedules accurately.
• Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely.
• Bake products according to established standards.
• Monitor oven temperatures, bake times, appearance, and texture.
• Prepare fillings and toppings.
• Cool products properly.
• Maintain consistent product size, weight, appearance, and quality.
• Package finished products.
• Heat-seal bags and packages.
• Apply product labels.
• Count and organize wholesale orders.
• Prepare orders for delivery or pickup.
• Double-check orders for accuracy.
• Rotate and properly store ingredients and finished products.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas.
• Follow food-safety procedures.
• Properly store ingredients and finished products.
• Monitor ingredient and packaging inventory.
• Communicate when supplies need to be reordered.
• Maintain an efficient production workflow.
• Follow all commercial kitchen and food-safety requirements.
• Plan weekly production.
• Prepare production lists.
• Organize bake days.
• Manage ingredients and supplies.
• Complete wholesale orders.
• Maintain quality-control standards.
• Identify production bottlenecks.
• Improve efficiency and workflow.
• Train future production team members.
• Eventually oversee day-to-day production.

Required Experience/Skills for the Production Manager:

• Minimum of 3 years of production experience within baked goods.
• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Production Manager:

• Reliable and dependable.
• Extremely detail-oriented.
• Fast but careful.
• Organized and efficient.
• Comfortable following recipes and established procedures.

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma.
