Salary/Hourly Rate:
$150k – $180k
Position Overview:
The Accounts Receivable Director will lead and oversee all aspects of the Accounts Receivable function, ensuring efficient billing, collections, cash application, and credit management processes. This leadership role is responsible for optimizing cash flow, reducing DSO, strengthening internal controls, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with strong leadership capabilities and deep technical accounting knowledge.
Responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Director:
- The Accounts Receivable Director will oversee full-cycle Accounts Receivable operations, including billing, cash application, collections, and credit management.
- Develop and implement AR policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- The Accounts Receivable Director will monitor aging reports and proactively manage delinquent accounts.
- Drive initiatives to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and improve cash flow.
- The Accounts Receivable Director will partner with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.
- Prepare AR metrics, KPIs, and reporting packages for senior leadership.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes in coordination with Accounting leadership.
- The Accounts Receivable Director will ensure compliance with GAAP and company financial policies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop AR team members.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements.
Required Experience/Skills for the Accounts Receivable Director:
- 8+ years of progressive Accounts Receivable or accounting experience.
- 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
- Proven ability to improve AR processes and reduce DSO.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounts Receivable Director:
- Experience in a mid-to-large organization ($100M+ revenue).
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
