Client Overview:

Our client is a non-profit, mission-driven organization dedicated to empowering older adults through innovative and inclusive care. They are seeking a detail-oriented Benefits and Payroll Administrator to join their team.

Position Overview:

The Benefits and Payroll Administrator is responsible for administering comprehensive employee benefits programs and ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing across the organization. This role serves as a key resource to employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance, data integrity, and exceptional service delivery in all benefits and payroll functions.

Responsibilities of the Benefits and Payroll Administrator:

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, wellness, voluntary benefits, retirement, and pension plans.
  • Process eligibility, enrollments, life events, terminations, COBRA, and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment, ensuring accurate communication, materials, and employee support.
  • Reconcile benefit invoices, manage vendor relationships, and collaborate with IT to maintain system accuracy.
  • Oversee benefits data integrity, employee notifications, and eligibility auditing, including 403(b) plan administration and pension calculations.
  • Maintain accurate benefits information across internal platforms and support ongoing benefits strategy with HR leadership.
  • Manage bi-weekly payroll processing, reporting, compliance with wage and hour laws, and year-end payroll requirements.
  • Provide training for managers on payroll processes and support payroll and benefits audits.

Required Experience/Skills for the Benefits and Payroll Administrator:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee benefits administration, including strong knowledge of 403(b) plans, retirement and pension programs, life event changes, and benefits processing for employee terminations.
  • Highly tech-savvy with experience using systems such as Dayforce, Oracle, SmartLink, and advanced Excel functions including VLOOKUP.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional, people-centered service, with the ability to provide clear guidance and resolve benefits-related inquiries.
  • Experience in payroll processing with strong attention to accuracy, deadlines, and compliance.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred.
