Our client is a local government advisory body that serves as a bridge between residents and New York City agencies, advocating for the needs and priorities of its community. Our client operates through multiple committees that review land use proposals, monitor city services, and provide recommendations on budget priorities and community concerns. Through public meetings and community engagement, they ensure residents have a voice in local decision-making. They are now looking for a Community Service Aid.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$20/hr
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a personable and adaptable Community Service Aid to support daily office operations and serve as a primary point of contact for local residents. This is integral to fostering strong community relationships while ensuring a welcoming, responsive, and efficient office environment. This role will work part-time, approximately 21 hours per week.
Responsibilities of the Community Service Aid:
- Serve as a front-facing representative, interacting with community members in person and over the phone.
- Assist with general administrative and office support tasks.
- Respond to inquiries and direct residents to appropriate resources.
- Support community engagement efforts and events as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the Community Service Aid:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
- Comfortable working with a diverse population.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Community Service Aid:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Highly organized, flexible, and comfortable balancing resident engagement with administrative responsibilities.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
