Client Overview:

Our client, a local government office in Queens, is seeking a personable and community-focused Community Service Aide to support daily operations and serve as a key point of contact for residents. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with the public, is passionate about community engagement, and is comfortable in a diverse, fast-paced environment.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$20/hr

Position Overview:

The Community Service Aide will support front office operations while engaging directly with community members. This role requires strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to assist residents with inquiries and connect them to appropriate resources. Candidates must be bilingual in Spanish and English and comfortable working with a diverse population. The Community Service Aide will work 21 hours per week, 3 days onsite, and will work from 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities of the Community Service Aid:

  • Serve as a front-facing representative, assisting residents in person and over the phone.
  • Respond to community inquiries and direct individuals to appropriate services and resources.
  • Provide administrative and general office support.
  • Assist with organizing and supporting community outreach efforts and events.
  • Maintain a welcoming, organized, and efficient office environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to support daily operations.

Required Experience/Skills for the Community Service Aid:

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in customer service, community-facing roles, or administrative support.
  • Comfortable interacting with a diverse population, including LGBTQ+ communities.
  • Quick learner with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Flexible, outgoing, and able to manage multiple responsibilities.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Community Service Aid:

  • Interest in local government or community-based work.
  • Experience working in public service, nonprofit, or civic organizations.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
