Our client, a rapidly growing contract manufacturer specializing in products for consumer and OTC markets, is looking to hire a Compounding Manager. The organization partners with a diverse customer base ranging from large enterprise brands to emerging companies and operates multiple production facilities within close proximity. The company is known for its focus on quality, safety, customer service, and operational excellence within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Position Overview:
The Compounding Manager is responsible for leading daily compounding and blending operations. This is an onsite, first-shift leadership position. This role requires flexibility to work Saturdays based on business needs.
The Compounding Manager directly supervises a team of compounders and ensures formulations are produced accurately, safely, and in full compliance with regulatory, quality, and safety standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical compounding knowledge, clear people leadership, and exceptional organizational skills to manage complex workflows across multiple manufacturing areas.
Responsibilities of the Compounding Manager:
- Oversee day-to-day compounding operations, including workflow coordination, scheduling, and resource planning.
- Directly supervise and support a team of compounders, providing training, instruction, and performance guidance.
- Ensure all formulations are prepared accurately according to batch records, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Monitor weighing, mixing, transferring, returning, and labeling of raw materials to ensure accuracy and traceability.
- Maintain precise documentation, including batch records, cleaning logs, inventory records, and quality documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, safety, and quality requirements (FDA, OSHA, internal procedures).
- Enforce strict safety standards when working with aerosols, flammable materials, and chemical ingredients.
- Coordinate closely with Quality, Production, and Supply Chain functions to support manufacturing priorities.
- Oversee proper handling, storage, and inventory control of raw materials across multiple manufacturing areas.
- Investigate process deviations, errors, and non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compounding equipment is clean, calibrated, and operating properly (e.g., transfer pumps, homogenizers).
- Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency, accuracy, and waste reduction.
- Maintain a strong presence on the production floor, supporting hands-on operations as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the Compounding Manager:
- Hands-on experience in compounding or blending operations within a manufacturing environment.
- Prior supervisory or lead experience managing production or technical staff.
- Strong understanding of formulation processes, precise weighing, and data entry accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to manage people effectively, set clear expectations, and maintain organization.
- Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments requiring strict documentation and compliance.
- Comfort working with compounding equipment and industrial processing tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Compounding Manager:
- Experience in OTC, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, or personal care manufacturing.
- Background working in contract manufacturing or multi-site production environments.
- Familiarity with aerosol or flammable material processing.
- Continuous improvement mindset with experience improving processes or workflows.
