Our client is a multinational consumer goods company focused on producing and distributing a diverse range of food, home, and personal care products globally. They are looking to add a Demand Planner to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$40/hr – $47/hr
Position Overview:
This Demand Planner helps the company predict how much product it will need to make and sell over the next 12 – 18 months across multiple brands and hundreds of products. The Demand Planner pulls together information from different teams (like Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain) to create a realistic monthly forecast. They look at things like promotions, new product launches, seasonal trends, and customer demand to spot what might increase or decrease sales, then flag risks and opportunities early. A big part of the job is explaining what’s changing and why (for example: “sales will spike next month because of a promotion”), and making sure everyone from planning to production to shipping is aligned. They also work on improving the forecasting process by making it simpler, more accurate, and more efficient, using better tools and data. Experience with forecasting tools, machine learning, or AI-based analytics is a plus.
Responsibilities of the Demand Planner:
- Develop and maintain a bottom-up demand forecast across a 12-18 month horizon using business intelligence inputs and statistical/ML signals where available.
- Convert promotional plans, pricing actions, distribution changes, and market insights into clear demand drivers for forecasting models.
- Ensure forecast submissions are accurate, on-time, and aligned with financial targets and planning assumptions.
- Lead and/or support monthly Demand Review forums by summarizing key changes, variances, and assumptions.
- Improve forecast quality through regular performance reviews (accuracy, bias, and variance analysis) with Demand Analysts and commercial stakeholders.
- Provide innovation and new product forecasts in partnership with project teams; ensure assumptions are documented and measurable.
- Partner with Commercial/Brand, Customer Strategy, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to build an input-led forecast across short-, mid-, and long-range horizons.
- Ensure appropriate coverage of hard-to-forecast segments (e.g., new items, discontinuations, local initiatives, non-standard demand).
- Communicate volume changes, drivers, and constraints across the end-to-end supply chain to improve alignment and execution.
Required Experience/Skills for the Demand Planner:
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas).
- Planning tools experience (e.g., Anaplan or similar IBP/FP&A planning platforms).
- Demand planning / forecasting systems (e.g., Kinaxis or similar).
- AI-enabled analytics exposure (e.g., AI agent pilots, automation, or ML forecasting support).
- Financial mindset (understanding volume/value, trade-offs, and forecast-to-budget alignment).
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management is required.
Benefits:
- Atrium Care Package available, upon eligibility (including healthcare plans, discount programs, and paid time off).
