Client Overview:

Our client is seeking a detail-driven Legal Billing Coordinator to join their Finance team and support all aspects of the firm’s billing cycle. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment, enjoys collaborating with attorneys, and takes pride in producing accurate, timely billing.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$60k – $65k

Responsibilities of the Legal Billing Coordinator:

  • Prepare, review, and finalize monthly client invoices for assigned attorneys and practice groups.
  • Manage prebills: generate, distribute, track revisions, and incorporate attorney feedback.
  • Work closely with Attorneys and support staff to address time entry issues, unbilled time, and discrepancies.
  • Submit invoices through both traditional and e-billing platforms.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining electronic billing guidelines for key clients.
  • Run and maintain A/R, aging, and unbilled time reports to support billing operations.
  • Assist with resolving billing questions and inquiries from attorneys or management.
  • Support payment follow-up efforts and coordinate with finance leadership on collections tasks.
  • Participate in special projects and provide additional billing support as needed.

Required Experience/Skills for the Legal Billing Coordinator:

  • 3 – 5 years of billing experience, including at least 2 years in a law firm.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Experience with e-billing platforms (Collaborati, CounselLink, Legal Tracker, Tymetrix, or similar).
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with internal teams.
  • Comfortable interacting with attorneys and handling sensitive billing information.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Some college coursework is preferred.
