Our client, a respected financial institution focused on empowering individuals and businesses through accessible lending solutions, is looking for a temporary Loan Officer to focus on consumer loans.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$24/hr
Position Overview:
The Loan Officer will serve members in all lending aspects, from the initial interview at application through final loan disbursement. This role supports sales initiatives, processes and closes loans, cross-sells financial products, and ensures loan documentation accuracy. The position requires strong customer service skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities of the Loan Officer:
- Interview and assist members with loan applications.
- Process and close consumer loans efficiently.
- Cross-sell financial products and services.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of loan documentation.
- Advise borrowers on financial status and payment methods.
- Review and update credit and loan files.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues.
- Stay current on new loan products and services.
- Market bank products to individuals and firms.
- Supervise loan personnel as needed.
- Prepare reports for delinquent accounts and coordinate with collections.
- Maintain and review account records for status changes.
Required Experience/Skills for the Loan Officer:
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience.
- Loan and underwriting experience.
- Consumer loan experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with loan processing and financial software.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Loan Officer:
- Familiarity with credit union operations.0
- Supervisory experience in loan processing.
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant loan and underwriting experience.
