Client Overview:

Our client is a confidential ambulatory surgery center located in the North Brunswick, NJ area, delivering high-quality outpatient surgical care in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. They are now looking for a Per Diem Surgical Technologist.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$45/hr – $52/hr

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Per Diem Surgical Technologist to support surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile field, preparing instruments, and assisting surgeons throughout operative cases. This role is essential to ensuring patient safety, efficiency, and adherence to aseptic technique in an outpatient surgical setting.

Responsibilities of the Per Diem Surgical Technologist:

  • Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain a sterile field and strictly adhere to aseptic technique.
  • Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments and supplies during procedures.
  • Assist with surgical counts (sponges, sharps, instruments) per policy.
  • Assemble and inspect instruments and trays prior to procedures.
  • Assist with patient positioning and safety measures as directed.
  • Handle specimens according to policy.
  • Support room turnover, restocking, and preparation for subsequent cases.
  • Assist in cleaning and sterilization processes as needed.
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.

Required Experience/Skills for the Per Diem Surgical Technologist:

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Prior experience as a Surgical Technologist or Scrub Tech.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique and OR procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Per Diem Surgical Technologist:

  • Ambulatory surgery center experience.
  • Multi-specialty OR exposure.
  • Familiarity with surgeon preference cards and outpatient workflows.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
