Our client, a well-established contract manufacturer, specializes in innovative formulation and filling solutions within the personal care industry. Through strong partnerships with customers and suppliers, they consistently deliver high-quality products across a broad range of categories. A commitment to transparency and reliability has earned them a solid reputation in the beauty and personal care market, operating within regulated, GMP-compliant manufacturing environments. They are currently looking to add a Senior EHS Specialist to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$80k – $85k

Position Overview:

The Senior EHS Specialist shapes and manages the facility’s environmental, health, and safety programs within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and customer quality requirements. By promoting safe work practices, sustainable operations, and accurate reporting while aligning EHS programs with GMP expectations, this role is critical to maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient operation. This position requires prior experience supporting EHS programs in a GMP-regulated manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities of the Senior EHS Specialist:

  • Serve as the site’s primary EHS authority, leading safety and environmental initiatives while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, including GMP standards, OSHA requirements, environmental regulations, and fire safety codes.
  • Partner closely with Quality and Operations teams to ensure EHS programs align with GMP expectations, quality systems, and customer audit requirements.
  • Manage customer-facing sustainability and compliance platforms by preparing, submitting, and validating required safety, environmental, and performance data.
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze key EHS metrics, producing monthly and quarterly reports that highlight trends, risks, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee facility utility usage and resource consumption, identifying reduction strategies and supporting initiatives that advance environmental stewardship.
  • Lead and coordinate GMP-related audits, inspections, and risk assessments, driving timely corrective actions to address findings, deviations, or non-conformances.
  • Maintain responsibility for core EHS performance goals, including incident reduction, accurate regulatory reporting, and completion of GMP-aligned safety and compliance training.

Required Experience/Skills for the Senior EHS Specialist:

  • Minimum 2 – 3 years of EHS experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment (such as personal care, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food, or similar industries).
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and GMP requirements, with demonstrated success supporting compliant manufacturing operations.
  • Experience supporting GMP audits, inspections, and documentation practices.
  • Proficiency with EHS reporting platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools.
  • Highly proactive, self-directed, and comfortable operating in a hands-on role with minimal supervision within a regulated production environment.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior EHS Specialist:

  • Background in personal care, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or other GMP-driven manufacturing industries.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Operations, and Engineering.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data trends into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders in compliance-focused organizations.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field is required.
  • Equivalent experience may also be considered.
