Client Overview:

Our client is one of the world’s largest energy delivery systems, providing electric, gas, and steam service throughout New York City and Westchester County. They are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle DBA (GoldenGate Specialist) to support mission-critical enterprise data replication and database initiatives.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$80/hr – $100/hr

Position Overview:

The Senior Oracle DBA (GoldenGate Specialist) will focus heavily on GoldenGate engineering, real-time data movement, and high-availability operations across on-prem and cloud platforms, including data delivery into Google Cloud Storage (GCS) and BigQuery. This contractor will support enterprise Oracle database environments, contribute to architectural improvements, and participate in a scheduled on-call rotation to ensure 24×7 system support.

Responsibilities of the Senior Oracle DBA (GoldenGate Specialist):

  • Lead the deployment, administration, tuning, and troubleshooting of Oracle GoldenGate (19.x/21.x) in large-scale production environments.
  • Configure and support GoldenGate Extract, Pump, and Replicat processes for uni-directional and bi-directional replication.
  • Design and maintain full-load and CDC data pipelines from Oracle to GCS and into BigQuery, including file-based ingestion (Avro/Parquet/JSON) and MERGE operations.
  • Support Zero-Downtime Migration (ZDM) strategies and GoldenGate high-availability architectures.
  • Administer Oracle databases (11gR2, 12c, 19c), including Grid Infrastructure, RAC, ASM/ACFS, performance tuning, and production operations.

Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Oracle DBA (GoldenGate Specialist):

  • 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience supporting production environments.
  • 3+ years of hands-on GoldenGate experience (19.x or 21.x).
  • Strong expertise with CDC-based replication and high-availability architectures.
  • Experience delivering Oracle GoldenGate data into GCS and BigQuery.
  • Experience with ZDLRA, RMAN, and enterprise-grade recovery operations.
  • Strong SQL/PLSQL, Linux/UNIX, and performance tuning skills.
  • Experience in troubleshooting large-scale distributed data replication environments.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and incident-response skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Oracle DBA (GoldenGate Specialist):

  • Experience with OCI GoldenGate or cloud-managed replication services.
  • Knowledge of hybrid data architectures involving On-Prem, OCI, and GCP.
  • Experience contributing to design discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
