They are currently looking to add a Senior Procurement Specialist to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$85k – $105k
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to oversee the strategic purchasing of raw materials to support uninterrupted production. This role will focus on sourcing appropriate volumes of materials at competitive market value while ensuring quality standards, delivery timelines, and overall business objectives are met. The position requires strong analytical skills, supplier negotiation experience, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally within a dynamic supply chain environment.
Responsibilities of the Senior Procurement Specialist:
- The Senior Procurement Specialist will analyze inventory levels and forecast purchasing requirements to determine appropriate sourcing volumes and supplier selection.
- Develop purchasing strategies and proposals aligned with company policies and operational needs.
- Lead supplier negotiations using market analysis and cost modeling to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Manage and expand vendor relationships through regular communication, meetings, and ongoing engagement.
- The Senior Procurement Specialist will monitor supply chain dynamics, including tariffs, duties, regulatory requirements, and lead times, to mitigate risk.
- Identify potential supply disruptions and implement mitigation strategies to ensure continuity.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Finance, Quality, Operations, and Sustainability, to align procurement activities with business goals.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, systems, and internal controls.
- The Senior Procurement Specialist will maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure compliance with procurement standards.
- Utilize SAP and related systems to manage procurement activities, reporting, and data analysis.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Procurement Specialist:
- 4 – 6 years of procurement experience within the fragrance industry or a closely related manufacturing environment.
- Experience in strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, and raw material procurement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Procurement Specialist:
- Experience analyzing market conditions and cost models to support purchasing decisions.
- Strong understanding of supply chain operations and global sourcing considerations.
- Experience working cross-functionally with multiple departments in a manufacturing environment.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).
