Client Overview:

Our client is an established and fast-growing private label apparel company partnering with leading retailers across the U.S. Known for delivering trend-driven, high-volume product across multiple categories, the team operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a strong focus on commercial design and speed to market. They are currently looking to add a Sr Designer – Athleisure to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$100k – $120k (Depending on experience) + Discretionary bonus

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a Senior Designer – Athleisure to take ownership of key accounts within a high-volume, private label environment. This role will focus on designing trend-right, commercially viable athleisure products across multiple categories, including activewear, loungewear, and lifestyle apparel. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly versatile, and thrives in a fast-paced setting, with the ability to manage multiple programs from concept through production.

Responsibilities of the Sr Designer – Athleisure:

  • Own design and development across multiple athleisure and activewear programs.
  • Create trend-driven, commercially viable products aligned with retailer needs.
  • Develop seasonal concepts, color palettes, and direction for key accounts.
  • Execute full design process from concept through production.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, production, and overseas teams.
  • Manage multiple timelines and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Partner with factories and vendors to execute the product accurately.
  • Support and mentor junior team members or design assistants as needed.
  • Maintain strong awareness of market trends and competitive landscape.

Required Experience/Skills for the Sr Designer – Athleisure:

  • 5 – 10+ years of apparel design experience, with a focus on athleisure/activewear.
  • Strong background in high-volume or private label environments.
  • Experience designing across multiple categories (active, lounge, sportswear).
  • Strong understanding of fabric, construction, and performance design.
  • Proficiency in CADs, tech packs, and full product lifecycle development.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and PLM systems.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Sr Designer – Athleisure:

  • Experience working with major retailers or off-price accounts.
  • Multi-category design exposure (women’s, men’s, or unisex).
  • Experience with graphics, prints, or branding within athleisure.
  • Prior experience mentoring or overseeing junior designers.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field is preferred.
