Our client is a leading manufacturer in the personal care and consumer products industry. They are seeking an Account Manager to manage the Northeast territory and sell the company’s raw material portfolio.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$120k – $140k Depending on experience

Position Overview:

The Account Manager will be responsible for managing existing client relationships in addition to prospecting new business for the organization’s portfolio. The Account Manager will work remotely with some travel to clients to facilitate in-person meetings and further expand client relationships.

Responsibilities of the Account Manager:

  • Devises strategies to enhance sales congruent with corporate aims and objectives.
  • Forecasts product demand and develops budgets in alignment with corporate targets.
  • Formulates and executes short and long-term sales plans customized for each account and regional context.
  • Documents all interactions in the customer relationship management software (Salesforce) for thorough record-keeping.
  • Generates project and sales activity reports following prescribed procedures.
  • Engages in regular discussions with customers to grasp their objectives and needs.
  • Prioritizes lead generation to drive lead conversion.
  • Cultivates customer relationships, proposing novel products and technologies.
  • Effectively manages and resolves customer concerns promptly.
  • Delivers technical/product presentations with proficiency.
  • Participates in trade shows and internal meetings as mandated.
  • Strategizes travel plans to maximize client engagement and operational efficiency.
  • Submits expense and call reports punctually as per schedule.

Qualifications for the Account Manager:

  • 5 – 10 years experience in a sales position within the personal care or consumer products industries.
  • Ideally local to NJ or NY to be able to travel and meet face-to-face with existing and potential new clients

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field. MBA is preferred.
