Our client is seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong background in public accounting to support multiple client accounts. Salary/Hourly Rate:
$24/hr – $25/hr
Position Overview:
The Accountant is responsible for accurately recording and reconciling financial transactions, maintaining general ledger integrity, and assisting with period-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in preparing quarterly and year-end payroll reports while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
Responsibilities of the Accountant:
- Prepare and file quarterly and year-end payroll reports in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Process and review bank transactions and checks, ensuring accurate posting and reconciliation.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements for client accounts.
- Maintain accurate financial and payroll records while safeguarding confidential information.
- Manage multiple client accounts simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of deliverables.
- Review financial and payroll data for discrepancies and resolve issues as needed.
- Communicate with clients and internal teams regarding reporting questions and financial matters.
Required Experience/Skills for the Accountant:
- Prior experience in a public accounting environment or similar professional services setting.
- Demonstrated ability to record and reconcile client financial transactions from bank statements accurately.
- Hands-on experience with period-end and year-end close processes.
- Strong understanding of general ledger maintenance and financial accuracy.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accountant:
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, or similar platforms.
- Exposure to payroll processing and quarterly/year-end payroll reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices.
- Experience managing multiple client accounts and deadlines simultaneously.
Education Requirements:
- Associate’s degree is preferred but not required.
