Our client is a growing private engineering firm located in Gwinnett County. This is a smaller, employee-owned organization with a civil engineering niche in the commercial space. They are now seeking an Accountant to support their continued growth.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$65k – $80k

Position Overview:

The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations within a project-driven engineering environment. This Accountant role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and experience handling multiple accounting functions including AIA billing, general ledger maintenance, payroll, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities of the Accountant:

  • Prepare and manage AIA billing and project-related invoicing in compliance with contract requirements.
  • Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll, employee expense reimbursements, and related tax filings.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting and analysis.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Assist with budget preparation, cost tracking, and job cost reporting.
  • Coordinate with management and project teams to ensure accurate financial documentation and compliance.

Required Experience/Skills for the Accountant:

  • General ledger (GL) accounting experience.
  • AIA billing or construction accounting experience.
  • Experience working in a small company environment with multiple responsibilities.
  • Payroll processing knowledge.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
