Our client, a financial service firm, is looking to add an Accounting Supervisor to their growing team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$115k – $130k Depending on experience
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Supervisor to join a growing Accounting team. This role is ideal for a CPA with public accounting experience looking to transition into the private sector and gain hands-on exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency accounting within an established financial services firm. The position carries significant ownership of payroll and compensation accounting, working cross-functionally with HR, FP&A, and external providers.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Supervisor:
- Manage end-to-end accounting for payroll, bonuses, benefits, and equity-based compensation across multiple global entities.
- Lead the monthly close process for all compensation-related accounts, including accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries with detailed supporting schedules and account reconciliations.
- Serve as the primary liaison with third-party payroll, equity, and benefits providers to validate data, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accuracy.
- Partner closely with HR and FP&A to align forecasts, accruals, and actuals related to compensation spending.
- Support consolidation and financial reporting of compensation expenses across all legal entities.
- Prepare audit documentation and act as the key point of contact for external auditors on compensation accounting matters.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes through automation, enhanced controls, and continuous improvements.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on compensation matters and support new initiatives or system implementations.
- Handle confidential compensation information with a high level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
Required Experience/Skills for the Accounting Supervisor:
- An active CPA license is required.
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Experience in complex, multi-entity, and multi-currency environments.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounting Supervisor:
- 5 – 8+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and financial services is strongly preferred.
- Experience with ERP and payroll systems (NetSuite, Workday, ADP) is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with process improvements and system implementations.
- Prior exposure to multi-entity consolidations and global accounting practices.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- An active CPA license is required.
