Our client is a leading service provider based in the United States, specializing in commercial restoration, construction, and roofing services. Their clientele includes some of the most prominent commercial portfolio owners and operators globally, both domestically and internationally. They are currently looking to add an Accounts Payable Specialist to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$55k – $65k

Position Overview:

The Accounts Payable Specialist serves as the vital link between vendors and the company, ensuring compliance and maintaining accurate contact listings and trade information. They facilitate effective communication and build strong relationships with vendors and the field team.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • Utilize accounting software and various programs to manage accounts payable
  • Handle accounts payable tasks for different entities and vendors
  • Review invoices for accuracy by cross-referencing purchase orders, prices, payment terms, and other details
  • Input invoice and general ledger data accurately
  • Generate Purchase Orders when required
  • Manage correspondence across multiple email folders
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with both new and existing vendors
  • Conduct a monthly reconciliation of vendor accounts
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of bills in accordance with departmental protocols
  • Execute transactions and perform accounting tasks such as account maintenance and reconciliations
  • Assist in enhancing and streamlining accounts payable processes
  • Fulfill other duties and assignments as necessary

Qualifications for the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in various software platforms including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment and adapting to rapid changes
  • Customer service-oriented approach to interactions with others
  • Detail-oriented mindset

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in an accounts payable administrative role, or
  • 2 – 3 years of experience in accounts payable within the construction and restoration industry, or 
  • A blend of education and experience
