Client Overview:

Our client is a dynamic and prominent real estate management company seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the Accounting team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong AP experience in real estate/property management who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$27/hr – $29/hr

Position Overview:

The Accounts Payable Specialist will handle full-cycle AP functions in support of real estate and property management operations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • Process vendor invoices and ensure proper coding, approvals, and timely entry.
  • Maintain vendor records, including onboarding and compliance documentation.
  • Prepare and issue 1099 statements and support year-end reporting.
  • Oversee petty cash card activity and reconcile balances as needed.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies quickly and professionally.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and ensure accounts are up-to-date.
  • Assist with AP-related reporting and month-end close support.
  • Collaborate with Property Managers and internal teams to ensure accuracy in accounting records.

Required Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • 3+ years of accounts payable experience in real estate/property management.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems.
  • Strong communication and vendor relationship management skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • Yardi, MRI, or RealPage software experience is preferred.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is a plus, but not required.
