Our client is a growing real estate company based in Philadelphia, PA, with a dynamic portfolio of commercial and residential properties. They are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their expanding Accounting team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$60k – $65k plus Bonus
Position Overview:
The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the daily accounting operations of this rapidly growing real estate company. This hybrid position offers a balance of autonomy and teamwork, as the Accounts Payable Specialist will handle high-volume invoice processing, vendor communications, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Process a high volume of invoices accurately and promptly for multiple entities.
- Review, verify, and match invoices to purchase orders and contracts.
- Maintain vendor records, including W-9s and payment information.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or payment issues.
- Assist in the month-end close by preparing AP accruals and related reports.
- Collaborate with property managers, accountants, and vendors to ensure smooth payment operations.
- Support process improvements and automation initiatives within the accounts payable function.
Required Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Minimum of 2+ years of Accounts Payable Specialist experience in a high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Experience within the real estate or property management industry.
- Familiarity with Yardi, MRI, or similar accounting software.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
