Our client is a dynamic, privately owned organization operating at the intersection of live entertainment production and real estate investment. The company produces large-scale shows and events while also managing a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential properties across multiple entities. The team is collaborative, driven, and hands-on, supporting a complex structure of interrelated businesses and assets. They are now looking for an Accounting Manager.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$100k – $125k
Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager will oversee full-cycle accounting operations across multiple entities spanning both the entertainment/show division and the real estate portfolio. This individual will play a key role in managing high-volume transactional activity, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting compliance, and implementing systems and process improvements — including real estate accounting software. This is a highly visible role requiring strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:
- Manage daily accounting operations across numerous entities, including reconciliation of 50+ bank accounts, credit card activity, and general ledger transactions.
- Prepare and review month-end journal entries and support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Oversee accounts receivable functions including rent invoicing, rent deposits, and collections; supervise an AR Specialist.
- Monitor accounts payable workflows and ensure timely processing of vendor payments and expense reimbursements.
- Prepare and file sales tax returns in compliance with state and local regulations.
- Lead accounting for a diverse real estate portfolio, including tracking property performance, rent activity, and property-level financial reporting.
- Evaluate and implement real estate accounting software to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with internal team members supporting the entertainment division on show-related financial activity.
- Communicate directly with ownership regarding financial performance, reporting, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and improve accounting processes, internal controls, SOPs, and reporting tools to support company growth.
Required Experience/Skills for the Accounting Manager:
- Strong QuickBooks experience, including multi-entity environments.
- Ability to manage a high volume of transactions and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Confident, proactive personality with the ability to work independently and communicate assertively.
- Solid understanding of full-cycle accounting and month-end close.
- Experience overseeing or mentoring accounting support staff.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounting Manager:
- Real estate accounting experience, including property-level financial tracking and rent roll familiarity.
- Experience with accounting system implementations or process improvement initiatives.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, growing organization.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
