Accounts Payable Supervisor

Our client is a well-established, growing company with a dynamic and professional environment. They are looking to add an Accounts Payable Supervisor to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$70k – $80k + Bonus

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to oversee a team of six AP Specialists and ensure the efficient processing of accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in a mid-size or larger company, strong leadership skills, and the ability to optimize processes while maintaining accuracy and compliance. This role requires minimal travel, a few times per year, to meet with staff in other offices, both nationally and internationally.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Supervisor:

• The Accounts Payable Supervisor will oversee and manage a team of six Accounts Payable Specialists, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Implement and maintain best practices for AP procedures, compliance, and controls.
• The Accounts Payable Supervisor will collaborate with internal departments to streamline AP workflows and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct regular audits of AP transactions to ensure accuracy and adherence to company policies.
• Assist with vendor management, including account reconciliations and payment negotiations.
• Provide training and mentorship to the AP team, fostering professional growth and development.
• Prepare AP-related reports and assist with month-end closing processes.
• The Accounts Payable Supervisor will coordinate with international and national teams, requiring occasional travel.

Required Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Supervisor:

• 5+ years of experience in accounts payable, with supervisory or management experience.
• Background in a mid-size or larger company preferred.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
• Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to travel a few times per year to meet with teams in other offices.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Supervisor:

• Experience with international payments and multi-entity AP processes.
• Prior experience in process automation and system implementations.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
