Currently, they are looking to add an Accounts Receivable Specialist to their team. $25/hr – $35/hr

Position Overview:

As the Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be the heartbeat of the billing cycle. From generating invoices to tracking payments and resolving discrepancies, you will play a critical role in keeping projects funded and financials accurate. This is your chance to blend detail-oriented work with the excitement of the construction world while partnering with Project Managers, finance leaders, and vendors.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Specialist:

  • Generate, issue, and track invoices for multiple construction projects.
  • Process collections, follow up on outstanding payments, and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Reconcile AR aging reports and investigate discrepancies.
  • Partner with Project Managers to ensure accurate billing based on job progress and contract terms.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly AR reporting for leadership.
  • Support month-end close activities related to billing and revenue recognition.
  • Maintain organized documentation for audits and contract reviews.
  • Assist with ad hoc AR projects as assigned by Finance leadership.

Required Experience/Skills for the Accounts Receivable Specialist:

  • 3+ years of Accounts Receivable or Billing experience. 
  • Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, v-lookups, and handling large data sets.
  • Solid understanding of AR processes, billing cycles, and collections.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounts Receivable Specialist:

  • Construction industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with construction accounting systems (Sage, CMiC, Viewpoint, Procore, etc.) is a plus.
  • AIA billing and progress billing experience.
  • Knowledge of contract terms, lien waivers, and job costing.
  • Experience in construction, engineering, or real estate development.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
