Our client, one of the world’s leading health and security organizations. They are to identify medical professionals that will provide care to Veterans across the US. They are seeking a Anesthesiologist to join their team!

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$250k – $300k

Position Overview:

Anesthesiologist on-call services, OR room coverage for anesthesia services, examinations, diagnosis, test ordering, medication, administration, orders, labs, documentation, resident supervision, pre/post/perioperative anesthesia care, admissions and/or discharge, electronic documentation, and practicing in accord with AAA and JC regulations/standards. The Anesthesiologist handle closely monitoring patients vital signs such as heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and respiratory rate during surgery and adjust anesthesia levels as needed.

Responsibilities of the Anesthesiologist:

  • Conducting preoperative evaluations to assess patients medical histories and degree of surgical risk
  • Administering general anesthesia prior to surgical procedures to render patients unconscious
  • Administering local anesthesia to numb specific areas of the body for minor procedures
  • Collaborating with surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals in the operating room to ensure a smooth procedure and patient safety
  • Managing pain relief, sedation, and ventilation during surgery to ensure patients’ comfort and safety
  • Overseeing recovery from anesthesia post-operatively, managing pain levels, and handling any potential adverse reactions or complications
  • Educating patients and families about the anesthesia process and addressing any concerns or questions they might have
  • Keeping up-to-date records of patients’ care, including medications given, procedures performed, and patients’ reactions
  • Participating in departmental meetings, professional development activities, and continuing education to stay current with the latest developments in anesthesiology
  • Adhering to all federal, state, and hospital regulations and safety guidelines related to anesthesiology
  • Pre-Anesthesia Evaluation and Preparation
  • Expected to be on-call as necessary

Qualifications for the Anesthesiologist:

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Anesthesia
  • DEA License
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting to 15 lbs.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required
  • Must relocate to project site for the duration of the contract
  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance

Education Requirements:

  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges: Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained
  • DEA License
  • For all grade levels and positions, applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
  • Current BLS certification. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred
