Client Overview:
Our client is a premier benefits consulting firm serving the public sector (Teachers, Government staff, Police, etc.). They specialize in annual enrollment support, benefits administration, and employee engagement solutions – delivering high-touch service while easing administrative burdens for their clients. Their culture emphasizes professionalism, collaboration, and teamwork. Currently, they are looking to add and Annual Enrollment Benefits Specialist to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$20.50/hr
Position Overview:
The Annual Enrollment Benefits Specialist provides on-site, face-to-face support to government employees during open enrollment. You’ll guide employees through plan options, answer questions, and ensure accurate, compliant elections within the enrollment system. This is a short-term, on-site assignment (two weeks) with paid group training in early October. Strong customer service, attention to detail, and comfort with web-based portals are essential. While this is a temporary role, future opportunities may be possible based on performance and client needs.
Responsibilities of the Annual Enrollment Benefits Specialist:
- Provide courteous, in-person assistance to employees selecting annual benefits (medical, dental, vision, ancillary plans, etc.).
- Navigate the enrollment website with employees. Explain eligibility, plan differences, and key deadlines.
- Collect and review required documentation; ensure forms are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Perform precise data entry and update employee records in the enrollment system.
- Troubleshoot enrollment questions, escalate issues when necessary, and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with company and client policies.
- Track daily activity and contribute to a smooth, efficient enrollment experience.
Required Experience/Skills for the Annual Enrollment Benefits Specialist:
- 1 – 3 years of experience in employee benefits and/or annual enrollment.
- Demonstrated success providing high-volume, in-person customer support.
- Clear, professional communication skills; able to educate and guide employees at all levels.
- Tech-savvy with web-based systems and basic office software; fast, accurate data entry.
- On-site only (remote not considered).
- Must provide your own laptop.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Annual Enrollment Benefits Specialist:
- Experience in Employee Benefits, Insurance, Consulting, HR, or Healthcare is preferred.
Education Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
