Our client is a large global manufacturing company that is looking for an Assistant Controller who will support the Controller in overseeing the organization’s accounting operations. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$130k – $150k + Bonus
Position Overview:
This Assistant Controller role includes ensuring the accuracy of financial information, maintaining internal controls, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. The ideal candidate for the Controller role will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller:
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the development of budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis.
- Internal Controls: Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting. Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and explanations during audits.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and training to accounting staff. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Special Projects: Participate in or lead special projects as required, including system implementations, process improvements, and financial analysis.
Required Experience/Skills for the Assistant Controller:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
