Our client is a global chemical company with a very professional corporate culture and history of industry success. They are seeking a Associate Plant Scientist to join their team!

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$19 – $22/hr (based on experience)

Position Overview:

The Associate Plant Scientist will assist in the development of, research for and improvements on new chemical technologies for agriculture. The Associate Plant Scientist will be working in a greenhouse setting conducting independent research initiates and partnering on existing research projects. Following highly regulated protocol for designing and executing experiments.

Responsibilities of the Associate Plant Scientist:

  • Bioassay experiments used to determine the response of agriculture from chemical treatments
  • Biological observations and assessments mostly in a greenhouse setting
  • Physical and chemical testing
  • Independent design and execution of tests including troubleshooting
  • Occasional field applications with small plots
  • Using statistical data analysis to summarize results
  • Data aggregation and analysis as well as meaningful summation and directives

Qualifications for the Associate Plant Scientist:

  • Experience with Biological and Chemical laboratory test methods
  • Significant knowledge of agricultural science focusing on herbicides and weeds
  • Experience working in a greenhouse with controlled chemicals
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to readily adapt to new software
  • Ability to communicate clearly in a team setting

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/Agronomy/Botany/Crop Science/Plant Science or another very closely linked field is required
