Client Overview:

Our client is a global asset-management firm that has been a leader in active investment management for a century. Headquartered in Boston, the organization provides a broad range of investment solutions across equities, fixed income, and quantitative strategies, serving institutional clients, financial professionals, and individual investors worldwide. Currently, they are expanding and looking to add a Benefits Consultant to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$58/hr – $62/hr

Position Overview:

The Benefits Consultant will be covering a leave from November through April 2026. This mid-level role provides key support to the Benefits team, with a focus on day-to-day benefits administration and improving operational processes. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of hands-on benefits administration experience and is based in the Greater Boston area. Success in this position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and advanced Excel proficiency (including VLOOKUPs). Experience with Workday is highly preferred. Accuracy and reliability are essential, as this role plays a critical part in ensuring a seamless employee benefits experience and maintaining data integrity.

Responsibilities of the Benefits Consultant:

  • Supported the day-to-day administration of health and welfare benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental plans.
  • Conducted daily, weekly, monthly, and project-based system audits to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and ensure data integrity.
  • Processed and tracked benefit-related claims and invoices—such as life insurance claims and premium billing—to ensure accuracy and timely payment.
  • Assisted in system testing and auditing of benefits platforms, identifying configuration issues, recommending updates, and supporting system enhancements.
  • Provided general benefits support, contributing to departmental projects, initiatives, and ongoing process improvements.
  • Assisted with the coordination and administration of employee wellness initiatives and health promotion programs.
  • Prepared data, documentation, and reports required for plan audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory reporting.
  • Generated reports related to benefit utilization, cost trends, and key metrics to support data-driven decision-making.

Required Experience/Skills for the Benefits Consultant:

  • 5+ years of employee benefits experience administration, including retirement plans, leave of absence, and health and welfare plans for mid-size to large organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service-oriented.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Success in improving benefits operations to streamline, automate, and close any gaps.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Excel (e.g., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Benefits Consultant:

  • Workday experience is a plus.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
