Salary/Hourly Rate:
$55k – $65k Annually.
On average, employees earn approximately $10k in commission during their first year, with the potential to reach $30k by their second year.
Position Overview:

We’re excited to announce a growth opportunity for a Business Development Manager (Building Technologies) specializing in low voltage systems, including Fire Alarm, security systems, Access Control, and Smart Building technologies. This role is focused on proactively identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities in these key areas of infrastructure and technology integration. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven, self-motivated sales professional with a background in staffing or talent solutions and a strong understanding of the low-voltage industry. This person thrives on building relationships with key decision-makers in construction, facilities, property management, and technology, and understands the complexity of hiring skilled professionals for specialized technical roles. You will work cross-functionally with Atrium’s recruiting teams to deliver best-in-class staffing services, drive profitable sales growth, and be a trusted partner to clients navigating evolving smart building needs.
Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager (Building Technologies):
- Train under the guidance of the Sales Development Team Vice President
- Proactively build a strong pipeline of leads across the low-voltage market through cold and warm outreach, industry networking, job sites, and referrals
- Conduct consultative meetings with hiring managers, project managers, and HR/TA teams at companies specializing in low-voltage installations, smart buildings, AV integration, and security systems
- Present Atrium’s capabilities and technical recruiting expertise tailored to the needs of low-voltage clients, including hard-to-fill technical and field roles
- Develop pricing proposals and secure profitable engagements through effective negotiation
- Consistently meet sales performance targets and key deliverables as set by your manager
- Establish and nurture long-term client relationships by ensuring superior service delivery from Atrium’s recruiting teams
- Stay informed on hiring trends, certifications, and compliance standards within low-voltage and smart building technologies
- Partner with recruiting teams to align on technical requirements, candidate pipeline strategies, and delivery timelines
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of sales activities and client interactions using Atrium’s CRM
- Collaborate with business leaders and recruiters to identify new opportunities and share market intelligence
- Represent Atrium at industry trade shows, construction forums, building tech events, and relevant networking opportunities
- Continuously grow your expertise in low voltage industry trends and Atrium’s talent solutions to confidently position our unique value proposition

Required Experience/Skills for the Business Development Manager (Building Technologies):
- Minimum 2 – 4 years of proven history of achieving sales quotas within the staffing industry through generating new business
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage several prospects/proposals simultaneously in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Proven experience in business development or sales, ideally in staffing or recruiting services
- Familiarity with low voltage systems or adjacent industries (construction, electrical, telecom, integration)
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple opportunities
- Resilient, coachable, and driven to succeed in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to operate at an office desk for extended periods of time, whether sitting or standing
- Ability to travel between Atrium offices, and client offices as needed, including reliable means of transportation
- Ability to attend national industry events and conferences, as needed
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required or comparable work experience.
