Our client is a manufacturer of nutritional products that is highly quality-focused. They are committed to maintaining rigorous testing standards and full regulatory compliance and are now seeking a Chemist to join their Quality Control department.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$65k – $80k
Position Overview:
The Chemist will play a key role in daily quality testing, performing analytical methods such as HPLC, UV-Vis, FTIR, and wet chemistry. This Chemist will handle sample processing, maintain laboratory equipment, support OOS investigations, and contribute to method development and validation work.
Responsibilities of the Chemist:
- Receive, process, track, and archive samples.
- Perform analytical testing (HPLC, FTIR, GC, UV-Vis, etc.) on raw materials and finished products in alignment with established procedures.
- Support method development, validation, and implementation.
- Lead or assist with OOS investigations, including documentation and root-cause analysis.
- Maintain QC records, specifications, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
- Conduct routine lab maintenance, inventory management, and equipment verification.
- Prepare samples for external testing and complete ERP documentation.
- Follow all GMP, safety, and biosafety requirements while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Required Experience/Skills for the Chemist:
- Hands-on OOS investigation experience.
- Strong analytical chemistry background, including HPLC, FTIR, UV-Vis, or related techniques.
- Familiarity with cGMP, FDA regulations, ISO/IEC 17025, and food safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and data accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory data entry systems.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Chemist:
- Experience as a Chemist within nutraceutical or pharmaceutical environments.
- HPLC or metals testing experience.
- Method development and validation exposure.
- Experience with ERP systems and document control processes.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related science preferred.
