Our client is a leading diagnostic company specializing in disease detection and providing innovative tools as well as services to the pharmaceutical and medical industries. They are seeking a CLIA Laboratory Director to join their team!

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$65/hr + (based on experience)

Position Overview:

The CLIA Laboratory Director will spearhead the launch, certification, and continuous operation of a medium-high complexity CLIA laboratory. The CLIA Laboratory Director role entails ensuring regulatory compliance, certifying SOPs, and overseeing all aspects of laboratory operations.

Responsibilities of the CLIA Laboratory Director:

  • Develop, launch, and administer a CLIA laboratory, including hiring competent personnel
  • Ensure compliance with CLIA regulations and oversee all laboratory operations
  • Implement quality system approaches for medium-high risk laboratory testing to ensure accurate patient test results
  • Monitor testing processes, identify potential errors, and take corrective actions
  • Oversee technical and scientific aspects of laboratory operation and abnormal result reporting
  • Develop laboratory reports to physicians in compliance with New Jersey Regulations
  • Supervise laboratory staff and ensure adherence to protocols
  • Employ and train qualified laboratory personnel in specimen handling and reporting

Qualifications for the CLIA Laboratory Director:

  • 1 to 5 years of direct experience working in a non-waived medium-high complexity CLIA laboratory
  • Must be qualified, certified, and licensed in the state of New Jersey for a medium-high complexity laboratory under CLIA ’88 regulations

Education Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (PhD, ScD, MD, DO, etc.) in chemical, physical, biological, medical, or clinical laboratory sciences from an accredited institution; or bachelor’s degree combined with prior experience
