Compliance Manager

Our client, a mid-sized property management firm located in the Roxbury area of Boston, is actively seeking a Compliance Manager to join their Affordable Housing team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$70k – $85k

Position Overview:

In this role as the Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the management functions of an assigned development, ensuring resident satisfaction and portfolio viability. This is a great role for a previous Senior Property Manager looking for a change of pace. This position involves supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities of the Compliance Manager:

• Oversee and ensure the execution of various maintenance functions related to the property, including preparing vacant units, implementing preventative maintenance programs, managing work orders efficiently, conducting physical inspections, and ensuring compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
• Solicit and evaluate bids and proposals for physical work within developments, providing supervision throughout the completion process, and managing purchasing functions for the project.
• Supervise all aspects of monitoring agency compliance, including overseeing proper recertification and interim recertification procedures, and coordinating annual unit inspections.
• Manage, evaluate, and provide guidance to employees in alignment with directives from the Area Manager and/or Vice President of Management.
• Uphold high standards for resident relations, address resident needs, and actively participate in resident association activities and meetings.
• Coordinate procedures for unit turnover, including applicant interviews and new resident orientation.
• Oversee the implementation of waiting list procedures and ensure an effective marketing program to minimize vacancy loss.
• Assist the Area Manager in developing and implementing a security and safety program.
• Enforce lease terms, house rules, and management policies, including adherence to the Drug-Free Housing Policy.
• Supervise rent collection, delinquency, and eviction procedures.
• Review and oversee the generation of operating reports and subsidy vouchers.
• Assist the Area Manager in developing the project’s annual operating budget.

Qualifications for the Compliance Manager:

• Must have 7+ years of property management experience in affordable housing space.
• MA Recertification expert (there will be a 30-minute recertification assessment in the interview process onsite).
• Able to work on site in South End/Roxbury MA 5 days a week.
