Construction Services Director

Our client, a recognized leader in the commercial construction space, is looking to add a Construction Services Director to their growing team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$130k – $175k DOE

Position Overview:

The Construction Services Director partners with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. As Construction Services Director, you will mentor and develop Area Supervisors and Superintendents, guiding them to achieve operational excellence. The Construction Services Director also provides oversight and support to Project Managers, ensuring smooth execution from preconstruction through turnover. The ideal Construction Services Director is a skilled leader, communicator, and problem-solver, with deep technical and financial knowledge of construction. This Construction Services Director role is critical to driving project success and fostering a high-performing team culture.

Responsibilities of the Construction Services Director:

• Visit projects with Area Supervisors to coach leadership, support Superintendent development, and ensure readiness for project starts.
• Assign projects and approve Superintendent and Area Supervisor project allocations, including monetary bonuses.
• Develop, communicate, and enforce field processes, holding personnel accountable for consistent execution.
• Lead hiring, performance evaluation, and skill development plans for Area Supervisors and Superintendents, focusing on safety, schedule, and quality.
• Foster collaboration and continuous improvement by coordinating communication, encouraging new ideas, and promoting best practices across field teams.

Required Experience/Skills for the Construction Services Director:

• Over 10 years of experience in commercial construction, managing fast-paced franchise programs with a focus on cost control and prototyping.
• Strong knowledge of trade scopes, including civil, structural, MEP, and finishes, with expertise in quantity take-offs and project cost tracking.
• Skilled in creating, evaluating, and managing project schedules to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and solutions-focused, with excellent organization, communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Construction Services Director:

• Experience with Bluebeam, Building Connected, Procore, or Sage Estimating.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
