Salary/Hourly Rate:
$130k – $145k plus discretionary bonus
Position Overview:
The Controller will oversee the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting functions. This role requires direct management of the accounting team, financial reporting, and collaboration with leadership to support operational goals.
Responsibilities of the Controller:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
- Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Partner with leadership on financial strategies to support long-term goals.
- Train, mentor, and supervise accounting staff.
Required Experience/Skills for the Controller:
- 5+ years of accounting experience in the hospitality industry (hotel or country club required).
- Management or supervisory experience required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Controller:
- Experience with hospitality accounting systems.
- Exposure to budgeting and forecasting in hospitality environments.
- CPA designation or on track to obtain it.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
