Controller

Our client is a retail start-up in growth mode and is looking to hire a Controller to sit in their Jersey City Office! 

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$175k – $190k 

Position Overview:

The Controller will join an existing team of 6 staff and have oversight of the daily accounting operations as well as the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Payroll Teams. 

Responsibilities of the Controller:

• The Controller will be responsible for the month-/year-end close
• Oversight of the accounts payable and accounts receivable activities 
• Responsible for the monthly financial reporting
• Reconciliations and some product forecasting
• Work closely with the Department Heads of the organization 

Required Experience/Skills for the Controller:

• The Controller should have 7+ years of experience
• Prior managerial exposure
• Experience with consumer packaged goods is preferred
• High proficiency in Excel 

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Controller:

• CPA is a plus.

Education Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
