Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience in accounts payable end-to-end functions, general ledger accounting, and audit coordination. The preferred applicant should possess excellent analytical skills, be detail-oriented, and have a proven track record in corporate accounting.
Responsibilities of the Corporate Accountant:
- Accounts Payable Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor management.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of all accounts payable transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounts payable function.
- Maintain vendor relationships and accurate vendor records, and ensure all necessary documentation is collected and verified.
- Compliance & Controls:
- Manage the preparation and filing of 1099 forms, ensuring compliance with IRS regulations and deadlines.
- Assist in the development, documentation, and enforcement of internal control policies and procedures.
- Partner with Legal and HR to ensure financial compliance with contracts, labor laws, and benefit programs.
- Identify opportunities to streamline compliance and accounting processes.
- General Accounting Responsibilities:
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Stay current with accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Required Experience/Skills for the Corporate Accountant:
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in corporate accounting, with a focus on accounts payable management, and general ledger.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (Microsoft Great Plains, Sage Intacct).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
