Our client develops and delivers innovative power solutions used across a variety of industries. Operating within a manufacturing environment, they are currently seeking a Cost Management Analyst to join their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$120k – $125k
Position Overview:
This individual will be responsible for establishing accurate standard costs, performing inventory valuation, managing cost collection systems and controls, and preparing internal reporting and analysis. The role also supports monthly financial close processes and ensures compliance with audit and SOX internal control requirements. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and communicate financial information across all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities of the Cost Management Analyst:
- Implement and manage cost collection systems for Plating Operations.
- Set and maintain standard costs for Operations, including materials, labor, overhead, and yield.
- Oversee inventory valuation and controls, including physical inventories and cycle counts (onsite and at vendors).
- Support monthly close activities: WIP valuation, inventory reconciliations, E&O reserves, and variance analysis.
- Conduct warranty analysis and maintain appropriate reserves.
- Ensure SOX compliance and support internal/external audits.
- Prepare internal reports on revenue, cost, variances, and gross margin.
- Develop tools and models to support business decisions and improve profitability.
- Analyze manufacturing variances and identify areas for improvement.
- Use PeopleSoft Query for reporting and ad hoc analysis.
- Provide ad hoc financial modeling to support management.
- Assist with forecasting and track actuals vs. forecast.
- Support the implementation of a new ERP system.
Required Experience/Skills for the Cost Management Analyst:
- 7+ years of experience with deep knowledge of process manufacturing and ERP-based standard cost systems.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with PeopleSoft or similar ERP systems.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to high-quality work.
- Comfortable engaging with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
- Willing and able to travel regionally on a limited basis.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics is required.
