Our client, a leading chemical company and team-oriented employer, is seeking highly skilled Electrical Engineers to join their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$125,000 – $175,000 depending on level of experience
Position Overview:
The role of the Electrical Engineer is integral to the organization, providing expertise in the development and review of equipment designs for various projects aimed at plant expansion and improvement. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for specifying electrical equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our client’s facilities.
Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer:
- Prioritize safety and adherence to best practices in all aspects of business conduct
- Lead the review, development, and execution of new projects, providing engineering and design expertise to the project team
- Address issues related to equipment reliability, engineering, design, procurement, installation, and project start-up
- Support the development of technical documents, including electrical diagrams, and other documents
- Provide technical specifications and calculations for the selection and sizing of equipment, including control valves, instruments, analyzers, and electrical components
- Review vendor documentation to ensure equipment suitability and accuracy
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control checks on vendor-supplied equipment, contractor engineering, design, and construction
- Offer expertise on codes and regulations such as NEC, hazardous area classification, intrinsically safe techniques, and explosion-proof methods
- Assist in developing spare part strategies, including SAP updates, supply vendor changes, and cost reduction initiatives
- Provide technical guidance to the maintenance organization on major equipment activities and day-to-day reliability concerns
- Review equipment specifications for modifications required to support changes in current operating processes
- Develop and enhance preventative maintenance practices to improve reliability and minimize process downtime
- Utilize SAP to update equipment repair histories, provide technical data updates, and input necessary changes to equipment bill of materials
- Support business processes related to safety, reliability, and controls within the domain
- Proactively identify cost-saving and reliability enhancement opportunities
Qualifications for the Electrical Engineer:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a related industry for the mid-level role
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a related industry for the senior role
- Knowledge of industrial process control instrumentation and analyzers (pH, GC, CEM, gas detection)
- Familiarity with Safety Instrumented Systems (Tricon, CX)
- Understanding of industrial electrical systems ranging from 120V to 6900V
- Proficiency in hazardous area classification, intrinsically safe techniques, and explosion-proof methods
- Experience collaborating with vendors and contractors
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required
