Our client, a leading global company and manufacturer of personal care and consumer goods, is seeking an Entry – Level Chemist to work in their research and development lab.  The Entry – Level Chemist will assist in developing new products and adjusting existing ones. The Entry – Level Chemist should also have knowledge of wet chemistry techniques, including titration, distillation, spectrophotometry (UV/Vis/IR), colorimetry, filtration, drying, weighing, and pH tests, among others.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$20/hr – $22/hr

Position Overview:

The Entry – Level Chemist will collaborate with senior scientists in the formulation of new products and adjustments of existing ones. This role requires adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the ability to swiftly adapt to a diverse range of testing protocols for regulated products.

Responsibilities of the Entry – Level Chemist:

  • Execute experiments in the laboratory, utilizing wet chemicals and specialized instrumentation for sample analysis.
  • Manage and perform stability testing.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments, and troubleshoot minor issues as needed.
  • Prepare product batches for various testing requirements aligned with ongoing projects.
  • Set up, calibrate, and ensure the upkeep of laboratory equipment.
  • Record testing data using company software and industry-specific programs.
  • Assist in managing laboratory-specific software and raw material inventory.

Qualifications of the Entry – Level Chemist:

  • 0 – 2 years of experience, preferential consideration is given to candidates with hands-on experience in wet or instrumental chemistry through research, co-op, or professional roles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a drive for operational efficiency in chemistry-related processes.

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biology, or related fields.
