We are currently helping to support one of the world’s leading health and security organizations to identify medical professionals who will provide care to Veterans across the US. Currently, they are looking to add Family Nurse Practitioners to their team.

Position Overview:

The Family Nurse Practitioners will be on-site and providing direct care to veterans. They will conduct physical exams, interpret lab tests, and oversee patients’ health.

Responsibilities of the Family Nurse Practitioners:

  • Diagnose and treat illnesses, medical conditions, and injuries.
  • Facilitate counseling and education on managing illnesses and understanding healthcare needs.
  • Provide prenatal care and family planning services.
  • Care for patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
  • Prescribe medications (in all states) and often have the ability to prescribe other medical services such as physical therapy.
  • Work independently or under the supervision of a physician, depending on state regulations.
  • Collaborate with a patient’s care team to ensure a comprehensive approach towards treatment and care.

Qualifications for the Family Nurse Practitioners:

  • Usually specialize in fields such as pediatrics, family medicine, geriatrics, psychiatric health, and more.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.
  • Certification

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Master’s or Doctoral Degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing or the Commission (ACEN-Formerly NCLAC) or the Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
