With a focus on delivering value and style, they partner closely with vendors to bring on-trend merchandise to a broad customer base. Currently, they are looking to add a Fashion Assistant to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$68k Annually
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Fashion Assistant to join a collaborative trend and buying team at a large retailer. This is an entry-level, trend-focused role ideal for professionals passionate about fashion, color, and visual storytelling. The position supports forecasting and product alignment by tracking key trends, analyzing performance, and building presentations for internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities of the Fashion Assistant:
- Research and communicate emerging trends via social media, fashion sources, and street style.
- Build trend decks and mood boards that clearly translate directional ideas for Buyers.
- Participate in sample reviews, vendor appointments, and style-outs.
- Analyze selling reports with the team to support merchandise decisions.
- Provide organized, visually compelling inspiration that reflects the brand’s needs.
- Collaborate with Merchants, Buyers, and peers to reinforce leadership vision.
Required Experience/Skills for the Fashion Assistant:
- Passion for fashion and strong knowledge of trends.
- Ability to identify and communicate color and design direction.
- Strong organizational skills with clear, professional communication.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.
- Based in the Los Angeles area.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Fashion Assistant:
- Graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.).
- Internship or assistant experience in trend forecasting, buying, merchandising, or design.
- Social media fluency and visual storytelling capabilities.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Design, or a related field is required.
