A leading brand in the skincare and beauty space is seeking a Freelance Beauty Product Development Manager to join their innovative and fast-paced team. This brand is known for its commitment to high-quality formulations, combining science and nature to deliver trusted skincare products globally. The Product Development team plays a central role in evolving product offerings and driving innovation.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$45/hr – $50/hr

Position Overview:

The Freelance Beauty Product Development Manager will provide critical support in the execution and coordination of formulation projects, with a primary focus on reformulations and occasional new product initiatives. This role works cross-functionally with internal labs, marketing, regulatory, and creative teams to ensure products are developed efficiently, meet deadlines, and align with brand standards.

Responsibilities of the Freelance Beauty Product Development Manager:

  • Support reformulation efforts by preparing project briefs and collaborating with labs and cross-functional partners.
  • Track key milestones across reformulation projects to ensure timely alignment and feedback from stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with labs and marketing to manage testing requirements and validate product claims.
  • Review and approve artwork components, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project timelines.
  • Monitor progress on key product development stages, including formula approval, testing results, artwork review, and market registration.
  • Research and summarize relevant trends in products, ingredients, technologies, and consumer preferences.
  • Participate in weekly development meetings and track progress on samples, testing, registrations, and other needs.
  • Respond to product, ingredient, and formula-related inquiries from global teams and internal departments.
  • Handle backend tasks such as purchase order entry and sample shipment preparation.
  • Provide additional administrative and operational support for team meetings and project coordination.

Required Experience/Skills for the Freelance Beauty Product Development Manager:

  • 3 – 5 years of product development experience within the beauty or skincare industry.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable working across various teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
