Client Overview:

Our client is an apparel company focusing on sweaters and knits. Their team is passionate about creating high-quality pieces that fit right and last forever. We are seeking a talented Freelance Sweater Technical Designer to join our client’s team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$35/hr – $40/hr

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate for the Freelance Sweater Technical Designer role will be responsible for technical women’s packs. This role is fully in-office, and the candidate must be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment. Sweater experience/work examples are required. This is a short-term assignment.

Responsibilities of the Freelance Sweater Technical Designer: 

  • The Freelance Sweater Technical Designer will translate design concepts into technical packs with accurate construction details, grade rules, and specifications.
  • Ensure fit consistency and size standards across multiple product lines for sweaters.
  • Review and approve prototypes, pre-production samples, and top-of-production samples.
  • Partner with overseas vendors and factories to resolve technical issues.

Required Experience/Skills for the Freelance Sweater Technical Designer:

  • Proven experience in sweaters (women’s or men’s is accepted).
  • Must have 4 years or more of technical design experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Excel and PLM.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Freelance Sweater Technical Designer:

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for technical design. 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
